Alphonso mangoes are a delicate, seasonal fruit. Due to their biological nature, they are occasionally susceptible to a physiological disorder known as Spongy Tissue (internal breakdown).
What it is: A condition where a part of the fruit pulp remains hard, acidic, or becomes discolored/corky.
The Challenge: This is an internal condition that shows no external signs. Even the most perfectly unblemished mango can occasionally have internal spongy tissue that is impossible to detect during our rigorous quality checks and grading process.

We source from trusted orchards and employ strict sorting standards to ensure you receive the highest quality possible. However, because this is a natural occurrence beyond human or machine detection, we cannot guarantee 100% absence of spongy tissue in every fruit.
